Growth and excitement

The app officially went live around April 24th. For the first week or so, no one else was using it besides me. But I took a few risks and they have paid off!

Earlier this week, I posted about Thread Stash in a Facebook Cross Stitch group that I am in and my phone blew up from all the comments about it! I realized that I had a major bug in it and had to do a fast fix for it - thank you to everyone who was patient with me during that period of time and finding a way to still use the app. From that day alone, I reached over 100 downloads, which was a number that I was certain would take me a long time to reach.

I got some awesome feedback about the app and for all the positivity, I am certainly grateful. My backlog got rearranged in a few ways because of feedback from people and I’m super stoked about the future of the app!

Another risk I took was emailing Chris Hardwick of the ID10T (formerly Nerdist) about my app. I’m a huge fan of the show and I know that the audience often has listeners with off-beat backgrounds. I thought perhaps there may be some people who enjoy cross-stitching who also listened. I, honestly, had NO idea if my story or app would resonate with Chris and his team or if it would ever get a shout-out on the podcast. BUT IT DID. Someone messaged me on Instagram about how she heard about Thread Stash from the podcast, and I instantly started fangirling! It was mentioned on Episode 1066 with Vivica A Fox.

All of the posting and shout-outs led it to being a #2 Trending app under Art & Design (on Thursday, May 7). I absolutely am blown away by the attention this has received and I hope to continue the trend of delivering awesome things for the app.
